Description
EnviroTOX® Burden
(TOXDetect Profile® [includes glyphosate] + MycoTOX Profile™ + Metals – Toxic Elements)
This panel is essentially EnviroTOX Complete without the OAT.
What does this test measure?
It bundles the chemical pollutant screen (TOXDetect), the mould mycotoxin panel (MycoTOX), and the toxic heavy metals test, giving a broad view of external toxic burdens but excluding the internal metabolic markers. It’s intended for cases where a patient’s metabolism has already been evaluated or is not of interest, and the focus is purely on toxins from outside sources.
Who is this test most suitable for?
- People who already did an OAT test (so don’t repeat it)
- Those known to have exposure (like living in a moldy house, or with mercury dental fillings) and want a targeted assessment
- Patients undergoing detox wanting to monitor just the toxin levels over time
Clinical Use
Clinically, this method can be used for follow-up testing to determine if interventions have successfully lowered toxin levels without the need to redo the Organic Acids Test (OAT) each time. It is also useful for individuals whose symptoms suggest toxic exposure, such as known mold exposure in their home or a recognized risk of heavy metal exposure. In these cases, doctors can directly measure specific toxins.
This testing assists in creating detoxification plans. For instance, if the panel shows elevated levels of ochratoxin (a type of mycotoxin) and high mercury, the treatment plan may include mold remediation and antifungals, as well as mercury chelation. Overall, it serves as an effective screening tool for toxins that may contribute to chronic diseases.
